GUIDELINE 1 : Conditions that favor the flowering of hope and joy in the life and mission of the individual communities

*        Living our Salesian consecrated life authentically and fully, individually and as community

–  Nourishing our prayer life, that it may nourish life-giving relationships in our educating communities

– Regular encounter with the Lord in the Sacraments of the Eucharist and Reconciliation

–  Weekly sharing of the Word of God and periodic sharing on La Madre’s circulars

–  Keeping alive our Salesian practices: buona notte, recreation, passeggio

– Living mercy and compassion among ourselves, and sharing this with the girls entrusted to us

– The efforts of each one to live the family spirit

 

*        Strengthening the missionary dimension of our Salesian educational identity especially among the poorest in the peripheries

–  The multitude of poor children and young people in our settings

–   Strong sense of belonging, sense of responsibility and creativity in the mission that is being perceived by and passed on to our EC esp. our teachers, staff and personnel

–  New initiatives to reach out to those in the peripheries:

·       Reaching out to public high school students through capacity-building encounters

·     Involvement in family ministry in the oratory of Pari Village, as a pilot project for the community, with focus on ecclesial formation, human promotion, and women empowerment

*        The “culture of encounter” in our communities:

–    Being an encouraging, caring, respectful, joyful presence that proposes the Salesian values of optimism and joy

–    Assistance at the counter in our boarding houses

–    Family-like friendliness with the girls during assistance; looking at the young with kindness and trust

–    Faithful accompaniment of the young people, especially in difficult situations, and in their discovery of their vocation in life

–    Mutual support and help, readiness to share and to pitch-in, foreseeing care

 

*        Collaboration and networking with others

–  The presence of a committed Educating Community

–  Witness of communion and collaboration in working with members of the Salesian Family

–  Existence of many supporters / donors in our work for the poor

–  The community’s openness to collaborate, dialogue, forgive, listen to the EC

–  Empowering our lay mission partners in our mission

–  Education to and fostering volunteerism in young people by encouraging them to join in the oratory

 

GUIDELINE 3 : Actual commitments the Province has chosen so that the lives [of the Sisters] and the scope of the mission will fully bear fruit as a sign of gratitude to God and to our Mother
